ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) students competed at the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) 2025 held at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, on March 16. The students achieved notable success at the national competition with their first-ever awards in two categories.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) teams, composed of a total of 48 students, competed at the 2025 Atlantic Engineering Competition (AEC), hosted at Université de Moncton in New Brunswick from January 24–26, 2025.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) congratulates Lilly O'Rielly for winning the prestigious C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship.

Berry Genge, a fourth-year ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) student from Lewes, PEI, has been named a 2024 3M National Student Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada.

Dr. Libby (Elizabeth) Osgood, associate professor in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE), has been named a 2024 3M National Teaching Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada.

Dr. Suzanne Kresta, a native of PEI, has been appointed as the Dean of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering for a five-year term, effective September 1, 2024. 

Dr. Yulin Hu, an assistant professor in the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøFaculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has received funding to establish a new Atlantic Zero-Emission Energy System Laboratory (AZEESL) that will produce clean and sustainable fuels and materials from biowaste.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has been awarded two new Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs, and a current Tier 2 Canada Research Chair has been renewed, all for five-year terms. 

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is excited to share the news that undergraduate student Luke McCarvill is one of 11 remarkable young Canadians awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarships for Canada this year.
