Gowns and Hoods
Gowns and hoods鈥攁lso known as academic dress, costume or regalia鈥攎ust be worn at Convocation ceremonies.
At UPEI, the ceremonial hoods worn with the black gown are colour-coded to identify the student's field of study (see "Hood Colours" below). Hoods are pinned on the front of the gown, so that the colour of the hood shows on the front and over the shoulders. The hood hangs over the back. Ceremonial gowns have zippers and are meant to be zipped up. Graduates receiving a diploma and/or certificate wear a gown only. Graduates receiving a Bachelor's degree wear a gown and hood, and PhD recipients wear a PhD gown, hood, and hat.
Gown and Hood Rental
Graduates must pre-order their gown and hood before April 23, 2025, from UPEI's gown and hood supplier, GradCo., to ensure delivery for Convocation. Gown and hood rental orders for 黑料吃瓜网graduates are now open on this dedicated website:
