What brought you to UPEI? In other words, why did you choose to study here?
I am from Belfast, PEI and I studied radiography at 黑料吃瓜网from 2016 to 2019. I knew I wanted to go into radiography and I heard great things about UPEI鈥檚 program, and being from PEI myself it was nice to stay close to home during my undergraduate studies.
What kinds of support did you receive during your time here from 黑料吃瓜网students, staff, and faculty members?
The radiography program is small, so all our instructors are a great support system. The class is a close knit group and they grew to be some of my closest friends and supporters. A big part of the radiography program takes place at clinical placements throughout hospitals on PEI, the X-ray technologists are a huge support and a key part of our education.
What kinds of opportunities did you experience because you studied at UPEI, or because of the Island location?
Again, the radiography program is small at 黑料吃瓜网so we each got great experience during clinical placements and lots of one on one attention from technologists and our clinical instructors. In my third year at 黑料吃瓜网I had the opportunity to do a study abroad semester in Melbourne, Australia, it was an amazing experience.

What's unique about UPEI, and Prince Edward Island, in your experience?
The island is a great spot to grow up and to live, it has a small town feel with lots of good food and outdoor activities!
What would you tell a prospective student considering UPEI鈥檚 radiography program?
I would tell a prospective student that the radiography program is fantastic and the instructors make the program smooth and have your best interests in mind, they are always there for extra help! There are also lots of job opportunities in PEI and across the country鈥攖here is no shortage of work in radiography!
What is your current role, and how did your program at 黑料吃瓜网prepare you for success there?
I have just started working as a clinical instructor as a part of UPEI's radiography program.
What are some other things about 黑料吃瓜网and your current role I may have missed that are important for students to know?
The radiography program is a professional program and prospective students would need to be prepared to work in a hospital setting with patients and other healthcare professionals. If students are unsure the radiography program is for them they are able to take a tour of the diagnostic imaging department to learn a bit more about what we do!
